When historians look back at this time, they should see this clearly: News giants hid the murderous ideology leading to attacks all over the world.
For proof, look at The New York Times. Today, as people absorb the news of yet another attack on a U.S. synagogue, the so-called “paper of record” is burying the story. No big front-page headline. No information about Islamism spreading across America. Just a tiny blurb mentioning that “a driver was killed after he exchanged gunfire with security guards at Temple Israel outside Detroit.”
Meanwhile, the New York Post — a smaller agency not trying to further radicalize people on the left — addressed reality.
This is typical for the Times. Last weekend, Islamist terrorists tried to bomb people in New York City. The Times did not mention this on its front pages. In this week’s episode of They Stand Corrected, I explain what the paper did instead:
The reality the media ignores
It’s not just the Times. CNN—my old stomping grounds—has been twisting itself in knots to hide the reality of Islamist terrorism. But the attacks keep growing.
My synagogue growing up in Albany, New York, was also called Temple Israel. In December 2023, a gunman fired shots outside while yelling “Free Palestine” (of course). Then, as in this latest attack, children were among those inside.
Last year, I spoke at the Albany JCC, where I went to camp as a kid. At the end of the day, we used to run around outside, waiting for pickup. The front doors were unlocked, so anyone could come in. Now, I discovered, in order to get in, people have to go around the back to a relatively hidden-away door with heavy security.
Movements that work to exterminate The People of Israel/Judea/Zion (“Jews”) never stop there. So a shooting in Virginia fits right in. “The madman who opened fire at Old Dominion University on Thursday, killing a retired military officer instructing an ROTC class, has been identified as an ex-National Guard soldier convicted of trying to support ISIS,” the Post reported.
Just like one of the New York City terrorists earlier this week, the Old Dominion shooter shouted “Allahu Akbar,” authorities said.
That attack is unmentioned on the Times’ front page. Yet when Virginia was home to right-wing dangers, the Times felt differently. In 2017, after Nazis marched in Charlottesville, the paper gave it front-page real estate above the fold.
Now, the threats are coming from the left. To the Times, that means they’re coming from inside the house.
Nothing to see here, folks.
