I start off by praising Rep. Haley Stevens for showing moral clarity in calling antizionism what it is: a hate movement. Yet she has also endorsed fellow Michigan Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, who would lead that hate movement in the Senate.
When I called her out on this act of placing party over country, she responded to me by citing a supposed “core tenet of our democracy.” That makes no sense.
This column also highlights some moments in history in which people did the right thing by putting country over party.
